You guys. We got this non-functional typewriter from Autumn and Luke (congratulations on your engagement!), and Jake is fixing it. I can’t wait to start typing on it.
It is seventy-three years old, a heavy duty “desktop” model. And look at those beautiful keys!
I’m so thankful for my wonderful mister. He truly is wonderful.
An incomplete visual documentation of our travels in lower California this past week: Yuma, a Swoon installation at the Geffen Contemporary, Battles at Amoeba Records, wearing a silly hat outside of MOCA, and a 25 cent ride down the hill.
More photos to come… when the film is developed.
So. I never thought I would be a record player person, but it happened. And it’s awesome. THANKS SAN DIEGO GOODWILL.
Oh my goodness.
I mentioned to Jake recently that I wanted to find a Polaroid camera, and he came home from Bookman’s today with (ta-da!) this guy. I did some internet research, and learned cool things about how Andy Warhol fondly used it (there is a current exhibition of his Big Shot Polaroids at Duke University which you can see here) and that it is beloved by Polaroid enthusiasts for its “eccentricity.” I found film and MagiCubes for it on Ebay, so i’m crossing my fingers that it’ll all come together and I can make a project of it.
Wheeee! THANKS, JAKE.
