TIMTOMJIMJAM Vol. 2 is done.
Featured artists include Ashley Barreda, Dave Baker, Amanda Beekhuizen, Nick Bunch, Carlos Garcia, Kevin Hamrock, Alexandria Kassman, Josh Lord, Christopher Lovins, Jeff Lownsbury, Andrew Maynard, Niki Ortiz, and Harrison Walter.
Also, now I know that if I ever need to do a hundred pamphlet stitch bindings in one day, I can.
Thanks to all participants/supporters/readers! And please let me know if you would like a copy! xoxo
The TIMTOMJIMJAM Vol. 2 cover is complete! After I sew a hundred pamphlet stitch bindings, you can have your very own copy.
I thought I was pretty good at staying clean while printing. Well. NOT TODAY.
Today, today was amazing. We went to yoga class, accidently joining a really jolly bicycle race on the way there, letterpress printed a three-color linoleum reduction (yes, all three colors in one afternoon = wowza) for the cover of TIMTOMJIMJAM Vol. 2, and ate Vietnamese food. What more could you ask for from a Sunday?
The xerox copies of TIMTOMJIMJAM Vol. 2 are done! Now, on to those letterpressed covers…
I’m making a linoleum relief block for the TIMTOMJIMJAM Vol. 2 cover. I’m thinking… a two-color reduction and a third color for the text?
This drawing is called The Lost and Found Committee I, and it is my submission for TIMTOMJIMJAM. Work on Volume Two of aforementioned zine is well underway, and I’ve collected lots of neat things from neat people that I know (and even someone that I haven’t actually met). I’m making copies of it this weekend, and I’m going to letterpress the covers soon after. So look forward to it. Maybe there’ll be a party to celebrate.
Plus: I just set up internet at my apartment today. This is awesome.
I attempted my dream project, making Holga and Diana photos into intaglio prints using Pos-E plates and CMYK color separation, but it flopped. Badly. The disappointment of this failure is a little bit assuaged, though, in the digital prints that I made. Holga and Diana photos are so lovely.
In other good news, I printed TIMTOMJIMJAM Volume One this past weekend! More on this, later.
In other other good (bittersweet? weird?) news, I graduate ridiculously soon.
I am putting together a ‘zine (with a letterpressed cover! reproduced above!) called TIMTOMJIMJAM of art, writing, and other creative and photocopiable things. Let me know if a) you’d like to submit work or b) you’d like a copy in a month or so.
