Here’s a real gem that I learned from my Penland workshop with Barb Tetenbaum: wire printing. Stick wire to carpet tape to book board to a piece of 3/4″ MDF. Shim it up as necessary to make it type high; then print it on the Vandercook! I printed the wire plate pictured above multiple times in different colors, rotating the paper as I went. It has a very delicate line quality.
So simple, so smart. Barb is the best.
