Hello… abstraction? For the cover of a new little do-si-do book about home and leaving home.
I am starting a solo zine called Pffft!, and yesterday it branched into two different versions: Mini Pffft! (a xeroxed zine using an instant book structure) and Mega Pffft! (a more in-depth book with a letterpressed cover). I’m learning that it’s good to have a mix of long-term, short-term and medium-term projects to keep busy with.
Apologies that this photo is awful. Embarrassing!
Last week I was feeling mad at myself for not making as much artwork as I want to be making. New plan? Drawing every day, and rounding up the good drawings into ‘zines.
Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about opportunity and repetition.
TIMTOMJIMJAM Vol. 2 is done.
Featured artists include Ashley Barreda, Dave Baker, Amanda Beekhuizen, Nick Bunch, Carlos Garcia, Kevin Hamrock, Alexandria Kassman, Josh Lord, Christopher Lovins, Jeff Lownsbury, Andrew Maynard, Niki Ortiz, and Harrison Walter.
Also, now I know that if I ever need to do a hundred pamphlet stitch bindings in one day, I can.
Thanks to all participants/supporters/readers! And please let me know if you would like a copy! xoxo
The TIMTOMJIMJAM Vol. 2 cover is complete! After I sew a hundred pamphlet stitch bindings, you can have your very own copy.
This drawing is called The Lost and Found Committee I, and it is my submission for TIMTOMJIMJAM. Work on Volume Two of aforementioned zine is well underway, and I’ve collected lots of neat things from neat people that I know (and even someone that I haven’t actually met). I’m making copies of it this weekend, and I’m going to letterpress the covers soon after. So look forward to it. Maybe there’ll be a party to celebrate.
Plus: I just set up internet at my apartment today. This is awesome.
I am putting together a ‘zine (with a letterpressed cover! reproduced above!) called TIMTOMJIMJAM of art, writing, and other creative and photocopiable things. Let me know if a) you’d like to submit work or b) you’d like a copy in a month or so.
